Theme: The Purpose of the Wilderness

An Awesome Gathering in Christ’s Presence

On July 12, 2026, the families of Let There Be Peace International Ministry came together for an awesome service in the presence of Jesus Christ. The message continued a vital series: understanding the purpose of the wilderness—and why God often chooses the longer road to your promised blessing.

Prayer and Praises

Covered by the Blood

Our intercessor opened the service, leading us in prayer. Together, we thanked Jesus for His hand upon us and covered ourselves with His precious blood.

Joyous Worship

Our dynamic worship team ushered us into God’s presence:

  • “You Are Able” – Joyous praise
  • “Simi Lapha” – Celebratory praise
  • “Abba Father” – Powerful worship

God’s Promises Will Come to Pass

As Healing Evangelist J.K. Fenuku entered, he continued the message from the previous week:

Scripture: Exodus 13:17–18

“‘Then it came to pass.’ These words are repeatedly found throughout the Word of God. They remind us that whatever God has spoken concerning your life will surely come to pass.”

The Purpose of the Wilderness

“God took the Israelites through the wilderness even though there was a shorter and easier way out of Egypt.”

The Testing Ground

“They spent forty years in the wilderness, and during that time, there were moments when they doubted God and moments when they trusted Him.”

The Personal Application:“Our wilderness may not last forty years. It may be longer or shorter, depending on how each individual responds to it.”

The Essential Truth:“The wilderness is not a place where we are meant to remain, but it is a place we must pass through.”

The Shorter Journey Is Not Always the Better One

“The wilderness is where God strips away the things that will eventually destroy you. He takes you through the wilderness to remove the people in your life who are only pretending to be for you.”

God’s Strategic Route

“God chose the longer route to bring the Israelites out of Egypt. In the same way, He may choose the longer route to bring you to your blessing because the people who are not meant to be part of your future would only destroy what He has prepared for you.”

Abraham as an Example

“You are going somewhere that your friend cannot go, so you have to leave them behind.”

Scripture: Genesis 12:1

“In the book of Genesis, God told Abraham, ‘Leave your father’s house and go to the place I will show you.’ He was to go alone.”

The Cost of Disobedience

“However, Abraham took others with him, and eventually arguments and conflict arose. Then Abraham remembered that God had told him to go alone.”

The Breakthrough:“Only after they separated did God speak to him again and reveal that He had been waiting for that moment to bless him.”

Separation Through the Wilderness

“If your blessing, healing, or breakthrough has not yet come, stop blaming God. Instead, examine yourself and look at the people around you.”

The Trap of Attachment

“Many remain stuck where they are because they refuse to separate themselves from the group of friends they are holding on to.”

The Deception Exposed:“When you have a friend who smokes or drinks, at first they offer it to you for free, just to get you to try it. Then, once you become accustomed to it, they expect you to buy your own. That friendship was never good to begin with.”

The Purpose Clarified:“God has to take you through the wilderness to separate you from that person.”

Friendship Is Not by Force

“The very nature of God is blessing, healing, and life, and He desires to give these things to us freely. But because you value your friends more than God, He does not.”

The Principle:“Friendship is not by force; it is by choice. Therefore, choose your friends wisely.”

Letting Go of Those Holding You Back

“When you read the Bible, you will see that by the time the Israelites reached the Promised Land, only a few remained.”

The Warning of Moses

“Even Moses, who had led them, did not enter because he became frustrated and angry.”

The Assurance:“Whatever you are going through, God is working behind the scenes.”

The Requirement of Surrender

“Today, we come to God while still holding on to things that we should have let go of. Yet when you come before Him, He will require you to lay those things down.”

The Promise:“God is ready to give us everything we have been searching for, freely, but He is waiting for us to change.”

Recognising Friendships That Are from God

“Not everyone sitting next to you is meant to be part of your journey.”

The Hidden Intercessor

“Someone may live far away, may not speak to you often or eat with you, yet they may be the one who is truly for you. When you are going through a difficult time, they go into prayer and cry out to God on your behalf.”

The Measure:“They love you more than the person who is physically close to you.”

The Discernment:“How do you distinguish between those who are from God and those who are not? You will only know when you go through difficult situations.”

The Battlefield We Are Living In

“Today, we are living in a battlefield where many people no longer care for one another.”

The Reality of Human Nature

“If God did not protect you, someone might even harm their own sister to get what they want. Everyone in this world has problems.”

The Test of True Friendship

“Only when you set aside your own problems to help your friend, and they do the same for you, will you know that your friendship is from God.”

The Standard:“You must never add to their burdens or place your problems on their shoulders, and they must never do the same to you. That is what a true friend is.”

When you embrace the purpose of the wilderness—separation, preparation, and promise—every delay becomes divine strategy, and every loss becomes necessary lightening for the journey ahead.

Prayer Focus

“Every foul spirit in my family, I command you out in the name of Jesus.”

“I am in my season now!”

Join us at Let There Be Peace International Ministry as we trust God’s wilderness route, choose our friendships wisely, and step into our promised season.
