FINDING MERCY AND BREAKTHROUGH

Year-End Service Recap: Finding Mercy and Breakthrough | Let There Be Peace International Ministry

Date: December 28, 2025
Location: Let There Be Peace International Ministry
Speaker: Sharlene Moonligan

A Powerful Close to 2025

On the final Sunday of 2025, our congregation gathered in the mighty presence of the Most High for a transformative year-end service. What unfolded was a profound encounter with God’s mercy, challenging each of us to enter the new year with transformed hearts.

Worship and Prayer: Setting the Atmosphere

Our service opened with dedicated intercessors leading the congregation in heartfelt prayer. Together, we sought God’s forgiveness and fully surrendered ourselves and our ministry to His will.

Our dynamic worship team then ushered us into God’s presence with anointed praise and worship, including:

  • “Tambira Jehovah” – Joyful celebration
  • “Lamb of God” – Deep, powerful worship
  • “The Anthem” – Corporate declaration of faith

The Message: Mercy Received, Mercy Given

Scripture Foundation: Matthew 18:21–35

Our woman of God, Sharlene Moonligan, delivered a powerful Word that cut straight to the heart of Christian character.

The Mercy Paradox

“We go to God for mercy, but we cannot have mercy on our peers or neighbors. This is because the light of God is not in our hearts. God shows us mercy, and we also have to show mercy to others. If we cannot have mercy on others, our prayers cannot be answered.”

Time for Character Correction

The message confronted common spiritual roadblocks:

  • Holding grudges and seeking revenge
  • Feeling entitled in our relationship with God
  • Trying to dictate terms to the Creator

Key Declaration:“The day you realize that you are unworthy of everything God has given you is the day your prayers will be answered. Come to God with humility.”

Your Heart’s Cry for Mercy

Scripture: Luke 18:35–43

Drawing from the story of the blind beggar, Pastor Sharlene emphasized the power of desperate, humble petition:

“This beggar did not know who Jesus was, but still he cried out to Him, saying, ‘Son of David, have mercy on me.’ We cannot receive our blessings if God does not have mercy on us. Today, the cry of our hearts should be, ‘Son of David, have mercy on me.'”

The Breakthrough Moment

A powerful realization was shared: Your breakthrough begins when you recognize you don’t deserve what God is doing.

“Everything we are today is not because of what we have done or where we stand; it is because of who He is. Stand firm and say to God, ‘I am nothing, but You are mighty, You are great. Make me something useful.'”

Faith That Won’t Quit: The Canaanite Woman’s Example

The service highlighted the unrelenting faith of the Canaanite woman (Matthew 15). Even when referred to as a dog, she humbled herself further rather than taking offense.

Application: When spiritual leadership challenges you, it’s often not because it’s wrong—but because understanding hasn’t arrived yet. Choose humility over complaint.

Closing the Door on the Enemy

Pastor Sharlene delivered a strong exhortation on spiritual authority:

“Stop complaining about others having what you do not have, because God has something better waiting for you. Sometimes you give the devil too much credit for the things you are facing. It is you who are allowing him access into your life. Today, it is time to close those doors and let go of the enemy in your life.”

The call to action was clear:

  • Practice compassion and mercy daily
  • Step into the new year as a transformed person
