The Steps of Prayer
As Healing Evangelist J.K. Fenuku entered, he shared an important lesson on prayer:
“The Bible says, ‘When you pray, go into your room and close the door.’ Which door is God talking about?”
The Two Essentials
“There are two things that should always take place in prayer: thanking God and asking for His mercy.”
Disappear in His Presence
“When we go to prayer, we must not be there; we must not be seen. Instead, the blood of Jesus must be seen.”
The Humility:“We are too filthy to stand in His presence, like filthy rags before Him.”
The Plea:“Therefore, our prayer should be, ‘Do not look at me, but look upon the blood that was shed on the cross. Look upon the blood.'”
Cover Yourself with His Blood
“Every day, make sure you cover yourself with the blood of Jesus. If you do not, you will not be noticed or seen by Him.”
The Promise:“As soon as that is done, you will feel His presence come upon you.”
The Holy Spirit’s Leading
“When you go to prayer, the Holy Spirit will lead you either to ask for forgiveness or to thank Him.”
The Sequence of Surrender
“After that, ask Him to cover you with His precious blood, and then surrender yourself.”
The Reason:“Why do we surrender ourselves? Because God can only trust someone who is dead to self, meaning you have given Him everything.”
Holy Spirit, Take Control
“Next, you call upon the Holy Spirit, saying, ‘Holy Spirit, I am here. Take over. Speak for me.'”
The Wisdom:“Only the Holy Spirit knows exactly what you need to pray for.”
Entering Another Phase
“At this particular moment, you do not rush anymore. Instead, you give yourself that moment because you are entering another phase of prayer.”
The Gratitude:“Then you say, ‘Thank You, Jesus, for allowing me to come into Your presence.'”
You Can Never Bargain with God
“The blood that Jesus shed on the cross was not cheap; you can never obtain it cheaply.”
The Seriousness:“Going to pray is not a joke. It is communication between one spirit and another.”
The Impossibility of Bargaining
“We often want to bargain with God, but He is not to be bargained with.”
The Declaration:“What God cannot do does not exist.”
The Simplicity:“That means that whatever we are going through is something God can simply sweep away, but we are failing to enter the place where we truly pray.”
Praise in Every Season
“Whether in difficulties or in times of joy, praise and worship Him, for He is God.”
The Warning:“Do not be like those people on social media who are digging their own graves by calling God wicked.”
Prayer Focus
“Every evil hand that is stealing from me, I command you out in the name of Jesus.”
“This month of July, I can see my blessings in the name of Jesus.”
