WHAT IT TAKES TO FOLLOW JESUS

The members of Let There Be Peace International Ministry gathered with open hearts, on August 18th 2024, for a powerful Sunday service in the presence of God.

The congregation came prepared to receive from Jesus and prayed knowing that He will come through as our intercessor, Mr. Vikesh Maharaj, led us in warfare prayer.

Every chain of the enemy was broken and every evil gathering against us was scattered in the mighty name of Jesus. Now being energized the more for the Holy Spirit, our Dynamic Worship Team led us in magnificent praise (All That We Are), (Everything Is Blessed) and glorious worship (Holy Forever) and (All Honour).

As our Spirits became more sensitive to the presence of Jesus in our midst, our woman of God Mrs. Fathima Maharaj, opened the sharing of the sermon with a question for the congregation: “How many of us actually seek Jesus? Do you have what it takes to be a Christian?” We then took to scripture to back up this teaching with the Word (John 12 vs 20-26).

Many today seek the benefits of Jesus and not Him. We seek the healing but not the Healer, the deliverance and not the Deliver, the blessings and not the one who blesses. The Greeks heard about all the wonderful things Jesus had done but they also heard what His enemy’s had to say and they sought Him nevertheless. Can we say the same as Christians today? We need to seek Him for our lives to be fulfilled and to get where he wants us to be. Before we start our day, every single day, our first priority needs to be seeking Jesus.

For us to be one with Jesus our old self needs to die. That happens when we deny ourselves, our fleshly desires, to be a follower of Jesus. Just like when a seed is planted in soil it grows to bear fruit, we need to deny our old ways and stand firm in Christ for our new life of joy, peace, blessings and love to come forth. As Christians it’s not about what we think of ourselves but what He thinks of us. He has a purpose for each and every one of us. It is up to us to decide to take up our cross and follow Jesus. We can come to church every Sunday and still not be a follower of Christ unless we are seeking Him. Many of us want to boast about ourselves and not about God but when we centre our lives around Him, He will provide us peace through our trails.

The woman of God then asked the church another question: “Are you seeking God’s version for your life or your own version of your life?” Our version of life brings only temporary joy, it will later become dark as God is not involved in our lives. But God’s version is one filled where you will never see that darkness. His version leads us to a destiny of abundance and miracles as His followers. Allow Jesus to manifest and take control in your life. It is never too late to change for the better. No one will do for you what Jesus has done. No one will carry your cross for you. When we put Christ first and seek him diligently, all that he has promised us will follow. Amen!

MASS PRAYER:

Lord God, we ask you to take our pain, discomfort and give us the enablement, fortify us to live a life that is pleasing to you, a life that is productive for your glory. In the name of Jesus Christ, we pray.

That spirit that is holding me back from being a follower of Jesus begin to die in the name of Jesus.
