On the first Sunday of the New Year, 5th of January 2025, the members of Let There Be Peace International Ministry gathered in one accord with rejoicing hearts to uplift our Lord’s name.
Our intercessor began the service by leading us in intercession. We prayed with open hearts, glorifying Jesus’ holy name, seeking His mercy and divine help and covering ourselves with His precious blood. Our dynamic worship team then entered and began leading us in exhilarating praises (What shall we do today) and holy worship (Lamb of God), (Victory belongs to Jesus.
Before our sermon, The Man of God Healing Evangelist JK. Fenuku, entered to introduce our guest speaker, Pastor Anita, who shared with an important lesson on the Armour of God. She took us to scripture (Ephesians 6 vs 11-17) and advised us to armour up every day.
Paul tells us except what we need in to put on the Armour of God:
1. The belt of truth- A belt is not just an accessory. It holds important items needed for battle and prevents the enemy’s attacks.
2. Breastplate of righteousness- This protects your heart from the enemy so that he cannot plant evil in it.
3. Shoes of peace- As children of God we are called to spread the good news and encouraging others. Share your testimony so that someone else can take courage and benefit from it.
4. Shield- Your shield is your knowing your Bible. Every day you need to ask God for a scripture and meditate on that scripture during the day. That is how you shield yourself.
5. Helmet of salvation- This protects your mind because that is what the enemy uses to destroy your life. He makes you think negative about yourself or he will make you see something that will discourage you and drive you away from God.
6. Sword- Your sword is the Bible and you need to learn how to wield it. Many people today say that life doesn’t come will a Manuel but it does and that is your Bible. Make sure you are fully equipped to withstand all attacks from the enemy.
You need to pray in the spirit because that is when the Holy Spirit guides you on what to say and how to pray. In order to achieve this, you need to build your relationship with God. Spend time in His word and draw near to Him. (Matthew 6 vs 22)
Our Man of God then began to bless the congregation with the word that God had put in his heart. He advised us, saying, “With your own power you can never stop bad behaviours. God has to give you the grace to stop. You can never please God until He gives you the grace to please Him.”
He then led us to scripture to verify his revelation (Luke 5 vs 4-6).
The reason why they didn’t catch any fish is because they were fishing without involving God. Whatever we have been doing, we have been doing it by ourselves hence why there is no result for our efforts. It is time we change our position. Everything in life must go through Jesus before it can succeed. This same incident we read in Luke, happens in John again. They only succeeded after involved Jesus. This 2025 let everything you do be done through Jesus!
Many people today will only see Jesus on the pulpit and they do not believe that He is also in their kitchen, living room or bedroom. When we do it through Jesus, our position begins to change. Our blessings, healing and breakthrough begin to pour in. Stop doing it on your own and allow Jesus to take the wheel in your life. Amen!
