FORGIVENESS

The families of Let There Be Peace International Ministry gathered in one accord once again for another powerful Sunday service on the 15th of June, 2025. All hearts were prepared to receive the Word and the blessings that God had in store.

A Time of Intercession and Praise

We began our service with intercession, as our intercessors led us in prayer. We gave God the glory and exalted His holy name. We asked for mercy and surrendered everything that concerns us to Jesus.

Our dynamic worship team then led us in joyful praises—”Turning Around for My Good,” “Bayede”—and in magnifying worship—”You Are God Alone.”

What We Are Going Through, Jesus Also Went Through

As our woman of God, Pearl Fenuku, entered, she began the sermon by saying:

“It’s not only that Jesus gave us a manual on how to live our lives, but He also came in person to show us the way. That situation you’re facing—Jesus also passed through it. He wants you to know that, just as He overcame, you will also overcome because He is WITH you.”

Forgiveness Is an Instruction from God

We were then led to the following scriptures:

Matthew 6:14–15, Matthew 18:21–22

This word comes straight from the Bible—therefore, it is the Word of God, and we must follow it. Jesus said that if you do not forgive others, He will not forgive you.

It doesn’t matter how many times you’ve been hurt—whether 7 times or 490 times—you must forgive. On your walk with Jesus, many will hurt you, but remember: just as others have hurt you, you have also hurt others. So it is your responsibility to forgive.

Do Not Be Selective About Forgiving

Jesus is very serious about the Word of God because it is His instruction and direction for our lives.

Who has hurt you? Who has offended you? Have you forgiven them—or are you waiting for a “convenient” time?

Jesus does not take offense lightly. It doesn’t matter how badly someone has hurt you. We often weigh people’s offenses—choosing to forgive small ones and hold on to the bigger ones. But Jesus wants us to forgive immediately—not after dwelling on it.

Unforgiveness Only Harms You

Do not forget that Jesus Christ is with you. What Jesus went through, we also must go through.

When you don’t forgive, you hurt only yourself. Unforgiveness is like poison—it’s as if you are drinking it and waiting for the other person to die.

To Jesus, unforgiveness is a spiritual crime. When you don’t forgive, you arrest yourself in the spirit. It affects your relationship and your walk with God.

Jesus Does Not Associate with the Negativity of Unforgiveness

Although Jesus comes with blessing, healing, and deliverance, He also comes with the condition that you must forgive.

Never expect your walk with Christ to be smooth without obedience.

When you pray and read the Bible, you’re knocking on Heaven’s door. But when you hold offense, which door do you think you’re knocking on?

Do you expect Jesus—who is love, peace, and forgiveness—to open a door to someone full of bitterness? Unforgiveness breeds other negative spirits as well.

Do Not Let Unforgiveness Hinder Your Walk with God

If you don’t forgive, how can you do the work of God? How will you help others?

Jesus loves us so much, and He wants us to take His Word seriously. Your relationship with God is more important than holding onto offense.

That very person you refuse to forgive may one day be your helper. Be careful. Do not rest until you have forgiven those who have offended you.

Forgive and let go!

Prayer Points

Lord Jesus, I let go of any offense, hurt, or grudges that I hold against anyone.

Lord Jesus, give me peace in every area of my life.
