Faith Must Be Tested
As Healing Evangelist J.K. Fenuku entered to share the Word of God, he began with a penetrating question:
“In your walk with Jesus, your faith has to be tested. If you are not tested, how will you know that you truly have faith in God?”
Scripture: Mark 10:46–52
The Importance of Timing
“This scripture demonstrates two important things. First, your timing is very important. Second, blind Bartimaeus displayed his belief by crying out, even when everyone was telling him to be quiet.”
Seize Your Moment
“Jesus was leaving Jericho, but Bartimaeus said, ‘No, this is my time to display my belief.’ It was not the time to be shy.”
The Challenge:“How many people today remain in bondage because of their shyness?”
Faith Requires Action
“When you believe in something, you have to take action. If you do not, then you did not truly believe in the first place.”
The Example of Bartimaeus
“Blind Bartimaeus did not allow his situation to stop him. He did not let the insults weaken his belief.”
The Distinction:“The multitude following Jesus also had problems, but only blind Bartimaeus received his healing.”
The Reason:“One man’s cry rose above the voices of the multitude. Imagine the passion and zeal he had for Jesus to hear him.”
Do Not Be Discouraged by Others
“The same people who told him he was making too much noise and insulted him were the very same people who later told him, ‘Take courage! The Master is calling you,’ and began encouraging him.”
The Cost of Worry
“When you worry about what your neighbor is saying, you will remain in your setback and bondage.”
Recognize the Assignment
“Anyone around you who tries to stop you from crying out and praying to Him, or laughs at you, has been sent by the devil to discourage you.”
Know Your Reason
“Everyone comes to Jesus for a reason. What is your reason? We come to Jesus so that He can rescue us and deliver us, yet we often become shy and hold ourselves back.”
The Warning:“Nothing good will come from that, so put your shyness aside. Do not let someone else deter you from the reason you came to church.”
Cry Out to Jesus
“Bartimaeus gathered the courage to cry out to Jesus, regardless of who was around him. It is time for you to do the same.”
God’s Desire for You
“God’s desire is for us to live well. When you look at yourself, what do you see? It is time to rise above your surroundings.”
Reject Doubt
“Do not doubt what God can do for you, because every time you do, you bring about your own downfall.”
The Discernment:“Ask yourself: Are you listening to the one encouraging you, or to the one deceiving you?”
When your faith must be tested, let your cry be louder than the crowd, your passion greater than your pain, and your focus fixed on Jesus alone.
