As God blessed us with another Sunday, Let There Be Peace International Ministry seize the opportunity to gather for a glorious service in unison to glorify His holy name. The members, excited to be in the house of God, were in an attitude of thanksgiving and expectancy.
Our intercessor, Mr. Vikesh Maharaj, began by leading us in warfare prayer. We prayed with authority commanding every spirit of limitation, stagnant and poverty out of our lives in the mighty name of Jesus. After the mighty prayer, the congregation was more fired up for our Lord Jesus Christ to come and do his work in us.
Our dynamic worship team then began to lead jubilant praise (When the spirit of the Lord), (What shall we do today) and adorning worship (To worship you I live), (You are holy), (I surrender all) and (I almost let go).
As the woman of God, Mrs. Fathima Maharaj, entered she shared a mighty and eye-opening teaching. We were taken to scripture (Proverbs 16 vs 32) and (Proverbs 17 vs 22) and taught about the two types of broken spirits that the Bible talks of. The first type of broken spirit our woman of God mentioned was that of anger. We are too quick to act out of anger and hate but too slow to forgive and love.
We often blame the other person and say, “But they said…” and “But they did…” when you are supposed to have that calmness in you to be able to let go of the wrong someone does to you. You choose to dwell on their negativity and fail to remember that what they are saying is not what God is saying.
However, when you are slow to anger, you are able to reflect on that situation and recognize if you are at fault. Our woman of God then made an example out of married couples, saying that when you are slow to anger and have an argument with your spouse you are able to see your wrong and apologize.
In order to become slow to anger you have to be constantly meditating on the word of God. His word teaches us how to achieve that calmness. Are you able to control your spirit? Stop allowing yourself to get angry, arrogant and prideful. You have to have self-control over your actions and words. These negative attributes is what breaks your spirit and bring about depression, poverty and sickness. Stop lashing out on those around you and instead focus on God so He can provide you with that calm spirit. The Holy spirit lives within you and when you allow your spirit to be broken then you are hurting the Holy spirit.
A pure spirit is easily recognized by those around you, as is a broken spirit. People around you are able to tell which state your spirit is in. When you begin to meditate on the word of God, He fixes your broken spirit. Your mentality changes from hateful to loving towards both yourself and others. We are made to worship so we need to allow our spirits to worship Jesus always. Allow a joyful spirit to speak to you and not a broken one. Your life will reflect your spirit, when you are joyful within, your life will be filled with joy aswell. The promises of God will follow once your spirit is fixed.
As our woman of God went on, she took us to scripture once again (Psalms 51 vs 17) to explain the other type of broken spirit one can possess. Are you angry because of how someone has wronged you? Are you speaking hatred upon those you are angry with? Or are you disappointed and angry with yourself for your wrongs unto God and those around you?
This is the type of broken spirit that God does not despise. The type that is able to see their wrong and repent and ask for forgiveness. Our broken spirit should not be so where we are unable to worship Him. God will never do His work in a hateful spirit. Humble yourself before Him and ask Him to fix your broken spirit. Stop finding excuses to be angry with God and stop blaming God for your unfortunate situations. Instead turn to Him and repent. Ask God to grant you a calm spirit. You will only know the gravity of your anger when things in your life are not going the way you want it too and you will only see your victory when you turn to God and fix your broken spirit!
MASS PRAYER (THIS WEEK I SEE THAT SPIRIT OF ANGER LEAVING YOU)
I use the blood of Jesus to remove every spirit of anger, bitterness, brokenness and hatred in Jesus name.
Oh, son of David, have mercy on me for allowing my spirit to be broken and heal my spirit Lord.
